Zahz Pizza burglary suspect arrested by police

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Cheektowaga Police made an arrest related to the burglary of a town pizzeria.

Cheektowaga Assistant Chief of Police Jim Speyer tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that officers arrested Peter J. Costa III, 54, of Huth Rd on June 13th.

Mr. Costa was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Grand Larceny.

Police responded to Zahz Pizza on Cayuga Road around 7:30 a.m. on June 13th to investigate the burglary.  The front door of the business was smashed out and the cash register was stolen.  The incident was caught on camera.

Mr. Costa will appear in Cheektowaga Town Court on June 19th for a felony hearing.  He was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center without the option to post bail.
