Woman rescued from backyard pond

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Bellevue firefighters were called to assist a woman after she fell into a backyard pond.

The incident happened around 11:15 p.m. Saturday on Bellevue Avenue.

A Bellevue fire chief tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that the woman fell into what looked like a small garden pond in her backyard.

She was in the water for around 15 minutes. She didn’t suffer any serious injuries, but was transported to the hospital to be checked out due to cold exposure.
