CHEEKTOWAGA – Western New York soldiers stationed in Ukraine recently received cards and letters sent to them from residents at The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility.

The residents decorated and wrote messages in the cards to thank the soldiers for their service and provide them with good wishes.

McGuire Group’s Communication Director Dawn M. Harsch says the letter-writing campaign was coordinated by Garden Gate’s Activity Director Rhonda Gorman and her son Derrick Garner of Cheektowaga who serves as the public affairs officer for the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

The soldiers are in Ukraine as part of a multinational effort to contribute to its long-term military reform and professionalism.
