Winter Weather Advisory issued until Monday morning

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Northern Erie County.

Hazards during this advisory include snow, freezing rain and blowing snow.  Impacts from this weather event may include freezing rain that could lead to slippery conditions and
hazardous travel today. Snow and blowing snow tonight and Monday will produce poor driving conditions with poor visibility and snow covered roads.

Snow may accumulate up to 2 inches today with 3 to 6 inches tonight and an inch or less on Monday. Ice may accumulate up to one quarter of an inch today.  Winds may gust up to 40 mph.

A Winter Weather Advisory is issued by the National Weather Service when a low pressure system produces a combination of winter weather that presents a hazard, but does not meet warning criteria.
