CHEEKTOWAGA – Winifred Kelsey Schultz Heidrick, a resident at The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility in Cheektowaga, celebrated her 100th birthday at a recent party in her honor.
She was born in Warren, PA on March 23, 1919, to Harold and Blanche Kelsey.
Ms. Heidrick worked as a registered nurse at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital for 40 years. She was married to the late Clarence Schultz and the late Joseph Heidrick, whom she met when he was a patient at the hospital. The couple resided in Cheektowaga and he worked at General Electric for 47 years.
She has two children: David (Marg) Schultz of Durham, NC and Janice (Michael) Bartel of Davenport, FL.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and reading. She is a parishioner at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and a member of the Cheektowaga Senior Citizens Center. She became a resident at Garden Gate Health Care Facility in 2017.
She enjoys listening to the radio and books on tape as well as attending BINGO and bowling activities and visiting with friends.
