Walden Avenue hit-and-run driver charged

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The Cheektowaga Police Department charged the pickup driver who left the scene of an injury accident midday Friday.

Police tell the Cheektowaga Chronicle that Vito Logrippo of West Seneca was charged with Felony Aggravated Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident and Driving While Intoxicated.

Logrippo crashed his pickup into a Jeep at the intersection of Anderson Road and Walden Avenue midday Friday and drove away down Walden Avenue.  Police brought Logrippo into custody after he crashed his truck into a snowbank behind The Home Depot in the Thruway Plaza.

An unidentified victim was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center for treatment.
