Villa Maria College staffer attacked on campus

CHEEKTOWAGA – Villa Maria College is asking its campus community to be extra vigilant after a person was attacked on campus Thursday morning.

Cheektowaga Chronicle has learned that a woman was pistol-whipped and robbed around 9:45 am while the victim was walking through a parking lot.

The Cheektowaga Police Department tells the Chronicle that the victim, a staff member of the college, was hit twice in the face with a handgun and her wallet and phone were stolen.

An ambulance was called to the scene to provide first aid, but she was not transported to the hospital.

The assailant is described as a six-foot-tall, thin black man.  He was wearing all black and had a hoodie pulled tight to his face and was last seen running on Pennock Place towards the City of Buffalo.

The Buffalo News reported on Thursday that the college sent an email to the campus community informing them of the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cheektowaga Police at (716) 686-3500.
