Victims of deadly hit-and-run crash at airport identified

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The victims of the deadly hit-and-run crash at Buffalo-Niagara International Airport last Wednesday have been identified by authorities.

Daisy Josiah, 53, of Maplewood, Minnesota died in the rollover crash along Luiz F. Kahl Way on June 7th.

Aye Phyu, 43, of Maplewood, MN, Paw Toe of Maplewood, MN, and Firnly New, 65, of Saint Paul, MN were passengers in the pickup truck that was driven by Myo Kyaw, 45, of Buffalo.

NFTA Police said another driver, Lawrence J. Penna, 68, of Williamsville, caused the crash and fled the scene.  He was later arrested at his home.

An investigation continues to see if charges will be brought against Mr. Kyaw.

Funeral services for Ms. Josiah will be held in Saint Paul in the coming days.
