CHEEKTOWAGA – Walden Avenue was shut down for a short time Friday morning after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole.
The crash happened around 9:30 am at the intersection of Walden and Reo Avenues.
Cheektowaga Police say a vehicle ran a red light at the intersection and hit another car. One of the vehicles then hit a utility pole. The pole was broken and needed to be repaired by the power company.
Five people suffered minor injuries and were transported to ECMC.
One ticket was written for running the red light.
The road was reopened an hour later.
