Vacant Cheektowaga Walmart store to see a Planet Fitness, CitiTrends

CHEEKTOWAGA – Two commercial tenants will soon breathe new life into the vacant Walmart store located at the Thruway Plaza.

DLC Management Corp. announced that they would divide the 90,000 sf zombie store to make way for a new Planet Fitness and CitiTrends store.

Planet Fitness will encompass around 25,000 sf while CitiTrends will occupy 12,000 sf.  The remaining 53,000 sf is still available for lease.

The Thruway Plaza location of Planet Fitness will be the gym’s 6th Western New York location and the announcement comes months after LA Fitness announced a new 37,000 sf gym around 2.5 miles away in the Union Consumer Square – another DLC property.

CitiTrends is a retail chain selling brand-name streetwear at a discount.

The old Walmart store had sat empty since last April when the store moved into their new supercenter at 2500 Walden Avenue.
