CHEEKTOWAGA – The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority announced that a plane hit a jet bridge Wednesday morning at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

The authority says the nose of United Flight 1442 hit jet bridge #9 while pushing away from the terminal around 7 am.

The flight was departing Buffalo for Newark.  There were 158 souls on board, but no injuries were reported.

An investigation is ongoing, and at this point, it appears the strong winds were a factor.
