CHEEKTOWAGA – Two teenagers were arrested Monday evening after Cheektowaga Police say they robbed another man at gunpoint.
Cheektowaga Chronicle has learned that a 20-year-old man was hanging out at an Olcott Place driveway around 8:20 pm with an acquaintance and another male unknown to the victim when the robbery happened.
“During their time together one male punched the victim in the face and the other male pointed a gun at the victim,” Assistant Chief of Police Michael Sliwinski told the Cheektowaga Chronicle. “The suspects left the scene with the victim’s phone and cash.”
Patrol officers and detectives quickly arrived at the scene and were able to ascertain the whereabouts of both suspects. They were arrested and a search warrant led to evidence of the crime being discovered.
An eyewitness tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that the police blocked off part of Olcott Place between Bell Road and Genesee Street and residents heard the police making requests over a bullhorn or loudspeaker for the occupants of one of the homes to “please come out slowly one at a time with your hands up.”
Police say Frederick Parsons, 19, of Olcott Place and a 17-year-old from George Urban Boulevard were both charged with Robbery 1st a B Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th an A Misdemeanor, and Petit Larceny an A Misdemeanor.
The Cheektowaga Chronicle is withholding the name of the 17-year-old due to his age and possible outcome of the criminal case.
