CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A two-car crash on Cayuga Road sent one person to the hospital Monday night.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. in front of the Post Office on Cayuga Road. It appears that a Kia Spectra and a Ford Fusion crashed head-on.

One person was taken to Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus by ambulance.  Another person was checked out by medics, but refused a trip to the hospital.

The road was shut down for nearly an hour as crews from the Cleveland Hill Fire Department and Cheektowaga Police attended to the scene.

Both vehicles were towed by Millers Towing.

When part of the road reopened, a driver unrelated to the crash was issued a traffic ticket for not following the state’s move over, slow down law when passing the crash scene.
