CHEEKTOWAGA – An emergency alert was activated at Buffalo Niagara International Airport Thursday after a Learjet 60 declared an emergency shortly after takeoff.
NFTA Spokesperson Helen Tederous tells Cheektowaga Chronicle the plan departed Buffalo around 11:15 am bound for Sarasota.
The plane experienced an issue closing its landing gear door and asked to return to Buffalo.
It landed safety a few minutes before noon after burning off some of its fuel.
The two pilots and two passengers were not hurt.
