CHEEKTOWAGA – A teenager was treated at the hospital after being slashed with a razor blade during a fight on Linda Drive Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 4 pm between two 17-year-old boys according to police. They were fighting in the roadway while several friends looked on. During the fight, one of the boys pulled out a razor blade and slashed the other.
The victim suffered a laceration to his arm and chest and required stitches. He was treated and released from Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph Campus.
The assailant turned himself over to Cheektowaga Police with his mother by his side a short time later. He was charged with Felony Assault 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a misdemeanor.
The assailant’s name is being withheld because youthful offender status could be granted once the case is adjudicated.
