Stevenson pleaded guilty to killing girlfriend and her son

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A Cheektowaga man has pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend and her 7-year-old son in State Supreme Court today.

Shane Stevenson, 31, will be sentenced May 3, 2017 for two counts of Murder in the Second Degree.  Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said on September 15, 2016, Stevenson strangled his girlfriend, Raina Voll, 30, and her son Leo Klinger, 7, at their 1331 French Road apartment.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of the Cheektowaga Police Department, including Sgt. John Wanat, Officer John Jones and Detectives David Stevens, Michael Hockwater, David Mossman and Timothy Szymanski. Colleen Curtin Gable, Chief of the DA’s Homicide Bureau, is prosecuting the case.

Stevenson faces a maximum of 50 years to life in prison when he is sentenced.
