Several brush fires ignited at Sloan reservoir

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A number of separate brush fires were ignited along the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks Monday night.

Forks Fire Department was first alerted to a brush fire just after 6 p.m. on Norfolk Southern Property off Gruner Road.  Firefighters initially found two brush fires.  One around a quarter mile east of Harlem Road and the other 100 yards east of Gruner Road.

Meanwhile, Sloan Fire Department responded to several small brush fires on the Sloan reservoir.

The fires were extinguished.  The cause was deemed suspicious.
