CHEEKTOWAGA – A second Cheektowaga convenience store was robbed at gunpoint overnight, but Cheektowaga Police may have found the man responsible for the robberies this week.

The 7-Eleven store at 1055 Walden Avenue was held up just before 5 am Thursday morning by a man wearing a face mask according to a law enforcement source.  He displayed a gun during the robbery and took cash from the register.

Police caught up with a suspicious man within minutes a few blocks away on Alexander Avenue.  A positive identification was made according to our source.

Thursday morning’s robbery is very similar to the one that occurred Wednesday morning at the 7-Eleven on Harlem Road at George Urban Boulevard

Cheektowaga Chronicle attempted to get arrest information on the suspect from police, but our requests have not been answered at the time of publication late Thursday afternoon.
