All Schools in Cheektowaga Closed on Friday

CHEEKTOWAGA – School districts across the Town are canceling classes on Friday due to the Wind Chill Warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Starting at 8:00 pm on Thursday, “dangerously cold” wind chills are expected from a range of 20 to 30 degrees below zero.

Cheektowaga Central, Cheektowaga Sloan, Cleveland Hill, and Maryvale Schools all have snow days on Friday. 

The National Weather Service warns, 

This is a potentially dangerous situation to be outdoors. If you
must be outside, be sure to cover all exposed skin. Frostbite can
occur in 15 minutes or less with apparent temperatures of
25 below zero or colder.
