My name is Jason Baier and I am seeking the position of school board member for the Maryvale Union Free School District Board of Education. I have grown up in Cheektowaga. I am a graduate of Cleveland Hill.  My wife and I have been married for 14 years and have chosen to buy our home in the Maryvale district.

My wife, Mary and I have one daughter, Georgia, who attends the intermediate school.  We wanted our daughter to have a well-rounded education and be offered the extracurricular activities that some private schools cannot offer.

Unfortunately due to budget cuts in past years, Maryvale is having a hard time offering them as well. I want to fight to restore funding back to our schools. The state is already taking too much from us in our taxes and now they are withholding critical funding for our schools too. I want this to stop and I want to be part of the solution.

I have owned a landscaping company in the past and in the past year I have finished my Local 22 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Apprenticeship program.  I also have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Buffalo State College.
