CHEEKTOWAGA – The Cheektowaga Town Council honored a town employee recently for his outstanding acts of kindness.

On the morning of December 11th, Sanitation Department employee Joseph Alba, Jr. was collecting refuse on his route in south Cheektowaga when he noticed a senior lying down in the snow.

She was shoveling her sidewalk, had fallen, and was on the ground for around 10 minutes before Mr. Alba found her and gave aid.

He assisted her to her feet, made sure she didn’t need first aid, and finished shoveling the woman’s sidewalk.

The town board recognized his actions with a proclamation at the regular board meeting on December 12th.
