Police chase person on Marne Road

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A Cheektowaga Police officer engaged in a foot chase after a suspect took off during a traffic stop on Sunday.

It happened just before Noon on Marne Road.

After the car was stopped, a police officer was performing a search and found a bag of cocaine.  

The suspect, described as a black man, then fled from the officer on foot through backyards in the direction of the cemeteries.  The police officer tried to stop the subject by deploying his taser, but it could not penetrate the subject’s jacket.

Police searched the area for the subject, but he could not be located.

Items dropped during the chase were recovered and were logged into evidence.

A tan Cadillac was impounded.
