CHEEKTOWAGA – The Cheektowaga Town Board approved the appointment of Patrol Officer Christopher Lovallo to the rank of acting detective at their regular meeting Tuesday night.

Mr. Lovallo is a 13-year veteran of the police department and received high marks in a recent detective assessment conducted by the department.

“He came to us from Erie Community College and the University at Buffalo where he studied Business,” said Chief of Police David Zack.  “Since he’s been with us he has received 13 separate letters of commendation and one special unit award.”

Mr. Lovallo was one of the first Crisis Intervention Officers on the police force and his supervisors consider him to be one of the most active police officers in the town.

His appointment was the result of a recent retirement and becomes permanent upon the completion of a six-month probationary period.
