
CHEEKTOWAGA – The Thruway Plaza Tops Friendly Markets is getting a multi-million dollar facelift the company announced Thursday.
The grocery chain is investing approximately $2 million as part of its capital plan to remodel the store at 700 Thruway Plaza.
Shoppers will see an expansion of the store’s produce, bakery, and deli/carry out café areas. New flooring, enhanced LED lighting, cart corrals, shopping carts, as well as a whole modern interior décor will give the store a refreshed and vibrant appearance.
Customers will also notice a new beer/beverage area, renovated pharmacy as well as renovated restrooms and will also find a wide selection of natural and organic offerings as well as meal solutions to choose from.
The store is also adding conveniences like Tops Home Delivery with Instacart.

The remodel is expected to be completed in July of 2019.
Tops also said it is closing its store at 1770 Broadway near Bailey Avenue saying there are 11 stores in a five-mile radius and six stores within a three-mile radius of the Broadway Tops. The store will close in August.
The 57 associates who are currently employed at the Buffalo location will all be offered employment at another Tops.
