CHEEKTOWAGA – A motorcycle operator was transported to the hospital after a crash on Walden Avenue Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 4:30 pm in front of 2425 Walden Avenue between a Jeep and a sportbike.

It appears that the bike struck the back of the Jeep throwing the female operator from the motorcycle.

Forks firefighters and an ambulance crew from American Medical Response treated the woman at the scene before she was transported to Erie County Medical Center.  The extent of her injuries was not immediately known.

Eyewitnesses at the scene tell Cheektowaga Chronicle that the woman appeared to be moving and talking with first responders while they administered treatment in the road.

Two people in the Jeep were evaluated by EMS workers but were not transported to the hospital.

Walden Avenue was reduced to one lane eastbound and two lanes westbound while emergency workers attended to the scene.
