Man steals running vehicle from Sloan gas station

SLOAN – A Buffalo man was arrested Saturday night after he stole a vehicle from a gas station in the Village of Sloan.

Cheektowaga Police say 22-year-old Ryan Nelson, of East Tupper Street in Buffalo, was charged with felony Grand Larceny.

The victim stopped at the Sunoco gas station at 2323 Broadway around 9:54 pm and left his vehicle running while he went inside the store.  When he returned to his car he saw Mr. Nelson was driving away in it.

The vehicle was located a short time later on Kennedy Road and Mr. Nelson was arrested.

He faces a charge of driving without a valid license in addition to the felony.  He returns to Cheektowaga Justice Court for a preliminary hearing on September 6th.
