CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – The felony hearing for the man NFTA Police say caused a deadly crash at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport last month return to court Wednesday morning.

Lawrence Penna, 68, of Williamsville, appeared before Justice Paul Piotrowski briefly Wednesday for what was supposed to be his felony hearing.  Judge Piotrowski adjourned the matter to August 17th.

A spokesperson for the Erie County District Attorney’s Office tells Cheektowaga Chronicle the defense requested the adjournment.

NFTA Police say that on June 8th, Mr. Penna’s vehicle came in contact with a pickup truck causing it crash and roll over onto its roof.  Daisy Josiah, 53, of Maplewood, Minnesota died at the scene.  Four other people in the pickup were hurt.
