CHEEKTOWAGA – The Cheektowaga Central School District announces that kindergarten registration for new students for the 2019-20 school year will begin March 4th and will be ongoing throughout the spring and summer.
For parents whose children are already registered and attending universal pre-kindergarten (UPK) in District schools, the process is streamlined.
“If your child currently attends UPK in the District, you will not need to re-register your child to attend kindergarten,” said Libby Maeder, the district registrar.
Some parents may need to submit additional documentation, including parents who moved during the previous school year. Those parents will be notified by the registrar.
Parents of UPK students in the Cheektowaga Central School District will receive an informational mailing in February outlining the UPK-to-kindergarten enrollment process. The mailing includes a letter and a brief questionnaire for parents or guardians to complete and return to the registrar.
Children who turn five by December 1, 2019, and are district residents are eligible for kindergarten. Registration is by appointment only.
For a kindergarten registration packet and a registration appointment, parents and guardians may stop in the Registration Office at 3600 Union Road any weekday from 7:30 am to 3 pm.
Parents may also call 716-686-3665 or email Registration@ccsd-k12.net. More information and downloadable forms are available online at cheektowagak12.org under District, New Student Registration.
