JetBlue flight encounters bird strike after takeoff

CHEEKTOWAGA – A JetBlue flight had to return to Buffalo after declaring an emergency shortly after takeoff Thursday morning.

JetBlue flight 2216 sustained a bird strike 10-minutes after leaving Buffalo Niagara International Airport bound for Boston NFTA Spokesperson Helen Tederous says.

The flight landed safely at BNIA under emergency conditions around 6:15 am.
