Internet Safety Awareness Forums for Parents

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Cheektowaga Police are joining up with town councilmember Alice Magiersaki to help let parents know what to be on the lookout for when it comes to keeping their kids safe on the internet. 

At each of the three forums scheduled, Detective Michael Hockwater will give a presentation to let parents know how to keep their children safe when they surf the web, especially when it comes to posts on social media.

Town officials will also be at each of the forums to help answer any questions people might have about their departments. This includes people from the Assessor’s Office, Community Development, Building/Housing Department, Senior Center, Youth and Recreational Services and the Town Clerk’s Office will all be at the forums.

Here are the following dates, times, and locations:

  • Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Maryvale High School. Presentation starts at 6:30 pm. 
  • Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Cheektowaga Central. Presentation starts at 6:30 pm.
  • Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Cleveland Hill High School. Presentation starts at 6:30 pm.
