CHEEKTOWAGA – The Holiday Showcase Family Restaurant at 3765 Union Road is closing its doors for good Sunday Cheektowaga Chronicle has learned.
Opening in 1965, the family-style restaurant has been in business for more than 50-years and made television news fame in 1987 after a tornado hit the business. The Showcase was closed for 13-months as construction crews completely redesigned the building.
Cheektowaga Chronicle reached a manager Saturday morning who said the business was closing because she and the owners were retiring.
“I’ve been here for 20-years and we just said it’s kind of time,” said Holiday Showcase Manager Arleen Worral. “It’s bittersweet. This place has been good to me. The owners are wonderful people. I’ve enjoyed working here but I’m 64-years-old and I want to do other things with my life.”
If you’re looking to grab one last meal – the restaurant is open until 7 pm Saturday and from 7 am – 6 pm Sunday.
There is no word yet if new owners will take over the restaurant.
