CHEEKTOWAGA – Overgrown weeds and grass along a Rowan Road sidewalk have been cut down after neighbors reached out to Cheektowaga Chronicle for help.

Robert Martin and his wife Joanne reached out to Cheektowaga Chronicle because they didn’t know who was responsible for the overgrowth in front of vacant land along the North Cheektowaga street.

We spoke to Highway Superintendent Mark Wegner Thursday and he said the machine used to cut the grass once a month was broken and he was looking for another solution for the remainder of the year.

He did say a crew was going to cut the grass Friday and the superintendent kept his word.
