CHEEKTOWAGA – The McGuire Group’s Garden Gate Health Care Facility on Union Road celebrated the 100th birthday of resident Maria Sluk.
She was born on February 14, 1919, in Poland. She met her husband, the late Nicolaus Sluk, at church and has five stepchildren.
Maria was a member of the North Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in religious services. She loves to sing and play the harmonica.
The couple resided in Cheektowaga and her husband was self-employed and owned a wood-working shop.
