Firefighters hold annual Communion Mass and breakfast

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – Cheektowaga’s Central Council of Volunteer Firemen gathered together at Resurrection R.C. Church for its annual Communion Mass and breakfast.

Firefighters from each of the fire departments assembled at the AppleTree Business Park before parading to the church at 9 am.  The parade was led by the Cheektowaga Police Honor Guard and members of the Greater Buffalo Firefighters Pipe and Drum band.

Supervisor Diane Benczkowski, Councilmembers Hammer, Magierski, and Rogowski were also in attendance.

The Mass was celebrated by Chief Chaplain of Erie County Emergency Services, Fr. Joe Bayne.  The annual event rotates among the fire departments.  Bellevue Fire Company hosted this year’s event.
