CHEEKTOWAGA – Firefighters from two different companies had to extricate victims at two separate collisions Sunday night.

Doyle firefighters went to work at 7:08 pm on the 1100 block of Harlem Road after two cars collided.  One person had to be freed from their vehicle before being sent to Erie County Medical Center for head and arm injuries.

Two other people were checked out at the scene.  One driver was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way.

An hour and a half later at 8:28 pm, Rescue firefighters attended to a two-car crash at the intersection of Harlem Road and Walden Avenue.

One person had to be extricated from a Crown Victoria taxi cab. Two people were later transported to ECMC.

A Chevy Cavalier was towed to a secured police impound for a safety inspection.
