ROCHESTER – Several media outlets are reporting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the Perinton offices of developer Robert Morgan Monday morning.

FBI spokeswoman Maureen Dempsey told media outlets that agents were “conducting court-authorized activity at 1080 Pittsford Victor Road this morning.”

Rochester’s Democrat and Chronicle reports the raid is in connection to a federal investigation scrutinizing bank loans that financed some of Mr. Morgan’s Buffalo-area projects.

The Rochester developer is the current owner of the property on which Cheektowaga’s first Chick-fil-A restaurant is scheduled to be built.

Cheektowaga Chronicle reported in January that Morgan Cheektowaga LLC purchased 1753 Walden Avenue from Team R N B Wisconsin LLC – the former franchisee of Famous Dave’s BBQ – for the price tag of $2,233,530.

The Town of Cheektowaga town board approved plans to build a 5,000 sq-ft Chick-fil-A restaurant on the site this past September.

Cheektowaga Chronicle reached out to Chick-fil-A late Monday afternoon, but the media relations office was closed.
