CHEEKTOWAGA – A portion of Beach Road was shut down Friday afternoon after a tree pulled down power lines from a house.

The incident happened just before 3:30 pm on the 800 block of Beach Road.

Authorities tell Cheektowaga Chronicle that a resident cut a tree and it fell onto the home’s service line.  The line was ripped off of the house and came to rest across Beach Road.

Ironically, a landscaping truck traveling on Beach Road was struck in the incident causing minor damage to its passenger side.

Cleveland Hill firefighters shut down Beach Road between Cleveland Drive and Yeager Drive while they waited for the power company to fix the hazardous issue.
