CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – By the end of summer, demolition work on 17 Yvette Drive could be completed according to Town officials.

The Town Board approved a resolution Tuesday night asking for sealed bids for the demolition and asbestos abatement work on the abandoned property.

The bids are set to be open on July 26th by the Town Clerk and awarded at the following Town Board meeting.

Town Attorney Kevin Schenk said at the board’s work session Tuesday night that the house could be demolished around 60 days after the board awarded the bid.

A public hearing was held in March where residents and Councilmembers expressed their concerns over the property.
