SLOAN – Residents who had their service line ripped from their house Tuesday afternoon after a dump truck crashed into utility lines must repair the damage themselves.

A NYSEG spokesperson tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that the homeowner is responsible for restoring power service to their home by calling a private electrician after the line is strung back to their house.

The cost of the work must be billed to the dump truck’s insurance company.  That information can be obtained by calling the Cheektowaga Police.

NYSEG says the damaged infrastructure owned by NYSEG has been repaired.
