CHEEKTOWAGA – The Cheektowaga Police Department is investigating a shooting on Eggert Road after a victim walked into Erie County Medical Center Thursday morning.

Captain Scott Pilat tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that patrol officers responded to the area of E. Delavan Avenue and Eggert Road around 5 am to investigate a shots fired complaint.

Erie County Medical Center called Cheektowaga Police a short time later to say that a male was being treated for a gunshot wound.  It is believed that he was taken to the hospital by a private party.  He was listed in stable condition Thursday evening.

Cheektowaga Chronicle observed several homes on Eggert Road cordoned off with crime scene tape and officers looking for casings on the ground.

The Detective Bureau continues to investigate the case.
