CHEEKTOWAGA – Two people were arrested following the execution of a search warrant on Gualbert Avenue Thursday afternoon.
The Cheektowaga Police Department’s SWAT Team executed the search warrant for suspected narcotics at 72 Gualbert Avenue around 1 pm.
Once the scene was secured, detectives of the Vice Gambling and Narcotics Unit located over three grams of suspected heroin, scales, packaging material, and marijuana.
Cheektowaga Police say they arrested Tyler Simmage, 18, of Gualbert Avenue and charged him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. He also had an outstanding Cheektowaga bench warrant.
Mr. Simmage was arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court Friday morning and will return November 21st.
Also arrested was Diamond Allen, 20, of Northampton Street in Buffalo. He was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He was booked and released on an appearance ticket.
A law enforcement source tells Cheektowaga Chronicle that the pair were not on location when the search warrant was executed and walked up to detectives while they were processing the evidence. Mr. Allen was smoking marijuana.
The search warrant and arrest of Mr. Simmage is the result of a few week investigation conducted by VGN detectives.
