Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Weekend of February 9, 2018

Here is a look at some of the incidents first responders were called out to over the past weekend.

Friday, February 9: 161 Calls

9:27 am – A man with a warrant was arrested after he was found hiding in a closet.  The police responded to the Gardenvillage Apartments to attend to a domestic issue.

9:58 am – A loose, white fluffy dog was picked up on Pine Ridge Road and taken to the dog pound.

10:53 am – Three handguns were taken from an address on the 4700 block of Union Road.  The guns belonged to a deceased man.

12:05 pm – Around 40 union members were holding a rally outside Wendt Corporation on Walden Avenue.

6:48 pm – A man selling furnaces door-to-door on Helen Street was advised by the police to obtain a solicitor’s permit.

7:02 pm – A missing person report was filed after a 17-year-old girl ran away from a Wellworth Place address after getting in trouble at school.

Saturday, February 10: 170 Calls

12:38 am – The police investigated a reported robbery on Colden Court.

2:40 am – One person was arrested on the 2600 block of William Street for menacing.

5:59 am – A man overdosed on Heroin at an address on Slate Creek Drive.

10:05 am – A car crashed into a telephone pole on Pine Ridge Heritage Road.  No one was hurt.

2:17 pm – The police arrested a man at the 7-Eleven at Beach Road and Cleveland Drive for narcotics possession.

5:16 pm – U-Crest firefighters checked on seven people after a three-car crash on the 3100 block of Genesee Street.

5:24 pm – An arrest warrant was issued for a 27-year-old after a robbery attempt and scuffle with loss prevention at the Walden Avenue Target store.  A security guard was checked out for a knee injury.

6:24 pm – A man was arrested near the post office for harassment after getting into a domestic incident at Walden Galleria with his girlfriend.

9:34 pm – A pizza delivery person along the 1000 block of Walden Avenue called the police because someone paid for the food with a $100 fake bill.

11:53 pm – A missing person report was filed for a missing 14-year-old girl on Rowley Road.  The grandmother told the police she stole $150 worth of coins.

Sunday, February 11: 125 Calls

12:03 am – Two people were arrested on Union Road for not paying their cab driver.

4:00 am – One person was arrested for harassment after a domestic incident on the 2100 block of Walden Avenue.

2:19 pm – U-Crest firefighters attended to an acid spill in the pool area at Comfort Suites on Dick Road.
