Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Weekend of February 3, 2018

Here is a look at some of the incidents first responders were called out to over the past weekend. 

Friday, February 2: 167 Calls

1:30 am – A man was arrested for trespassing after a customer complained about him begging for money at the Sunoco station on Harlem at Genesee. 

4:12 am – A caller told police she wanted her cousin out of her Haller Avenue home. She didn’t know his last name when she was asked. The cousin was sent on his way a few minutes later by police. 

10:11 am – Copper downspouts were reportedly taken from a home on E. Treehaven Road. 

10:46 am – One person was taken to Buffalo Mercy after a crash on French Road. 

11:40 am – Police were called to Price Rite on Walden after someone noticed a couple small children in a car that was parked in the fire lane. Police got in touch with the mother who claimed she was running inside the store to get a cart for the kids. She was advised. 

11:56 am – An officer went out to Thruway Plaza to deal with a dispute between a cabbie and customer over a fare. 

1:02 pm – A woman called police to say another woman came to her apartment on Gardenvillage Drive. She was beat up and holding a bible. Blood was found in the hallway. The woman was taken to ECMC on a mental health evaluation and a police report was filed. 

1:06 pm – Cleveland Hill firefighters were called to a report of a garage fire on Heather Road. It turned out to be a garbage can fire that was put out when crews arrived. 

1:47 pm – A man was taken to ECMC by ambulance after a prescription drug overdose. 

2:04 pm – An office smoke detector went off at Stanley Steemer on Genesee Street. It turned out to be a test of the alarm. 

6:45 pm – Two women were arrested for marijuana possession on Michael Avenue. 

7:24 pm – Police responded to Norine Drive after a caller said a homeless woman who was living with her attacked her – pulling her off the couch by her hair. The homeless woman was gone by the time police arrived. 

7:34 pm – A taxi was called for a drunk man who refused to leave Subway on Transit Road. 

8:38 pm – A woman on Rossler Avenue called police to say her neighbor was smoking pot and she’s allergic to the smell. When police arrived, the caller (who “had a couple too many pops”) was unsure of what she was talking about. She was advised. 

9:30 pm – A neighbor on French Road called about what sounded like a domestic dispute in a nearby apartment. It turned out a guy got heated while playing video games. 

9:44 pm – A woman was taken ECMC to sober up after she fell in the Denny’s parking lot on Genesee Street. 

Saturday, February 3: 123 Calls

12:17 am – A driver was arrested for marijuana after crashing into a guard rail on the 33. 

12:35 am – An 11-year-old was taken to grandma’s house by police after they discovered he was left alone all day. His parent was found at ECMC intoxicated. 

3:42 am – A driver was arrested for DWI after being pulled over on the 33. 

4:45 am – Police found a car off the road on Genesee Street. There was no one in the vehicle, but blood was found inside. The driver was found at the Buffalo General ER. 

9:44 am – A woman was taken to ECMC after a crash on Transit Road. A man was also arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. 

10:57 am – Forks firefighters responded to a home on Gruner Road after a man fell 10 feet and was unconscious. A couple firefighters remained with the man in the ambulance on his way to St. Joes. 

1:31 pm – A man was taken to the VA by ambulance from Tops on Harlem Road. The man fell while trying to leave after he was spotted shoplifting. It turns ou tthe man had an issue because he wasn’t taking his diabetic medication – so he was acting out. He was advised. 

1:47 pm – A woman on Genesee Street reported her TV was taken from her home. 

5:10 pm – Police were called to Towers Boulevard. A mom was teaching her son to drive and he crashed into a tree. There was minor damage to the tree. 

5:29 pm – Pine Hill and Rescue firefighters were called to Price Rite after a man fell and had a seizure near the checkout at the store. The man quickly got up and was combative with EMS crews. 

6:50 pm – A group was kicked out of the Galleria after a fight. 

7:04 pm – Bellevue firefighters were called to the scene of a crash on Como Park Boulevard where a pregnant woman said she was injured. 

7:34 pm – A man said his silver watch was taken from his vehicle on Union Road. 

8:11 pm – A police report was filed after an employee at Walmart said her wallet was stolen. 

8:55 pm – A police report was filed after guests at the Holiday Inn Express on Anderson Road left without paying.

9:00 pm – A woman was arrested for barging into her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend’s house and trying to fight the family and neighbors. 

11:26 pm – A woman called about a teenager who was ringing her doorbell on Nancy Place. It turned out to be an autistic teen from a nearby home. 

11:29 pm – An arrest was made after a man’s sons were allegedly beat up at Get Air on Union Road. 

11:42 pm – A man called police because he thought his child’s mother put something in his gas tank. When police arrived, he didn’t want anything done. 

Sunday, February 4: 108 Calls

1:23 am – An elderly woman called police. She was upset that her upstairs neighbor is always having loud sex and doing laundry. She was advised to contact the landlord. 

2:12 am – Three people were arrested for narcotics on Hoerner Avenue. 

4:06 am – Police were called to check on a woman on Brookhaven Road. Apparently, she posted something about dying on Facebook. She told police her account was hacked. 

10:27 am – A person on Autumnwood Drive reported that their house and car were egged overnight. 

10:41 am – Police responded to Williamstowne Apartments. A man said his drunk roommate locked him out of their house. He then told police he was taking off for the day. 

11:03 am – South Line firefighters were called to Bory Road after an electrical outlet started smoking. The homeowner cut power to the outlet. They were advised about the overloaded circuit. 

5:24 pm – Police checked out a driver who was accused of road rage on Galleria Drive. AMR was called to check out the driver for a possible diabetic issue. She refused treatment, just said she doesn’t like the way people drive. 

6:16 pm – A dog was taken to the pound from Diane Drive after it apparently bit the arm of a 34-year-old man. He was checked out by an ambulance crew and signed off on further treatment. 

8:02 pm – A drunk man was taken to ECMC after he punched a TV. He was drunk, and his friend wanted him out of the house earlier in the evening. (No word on if he was rooting for the Pats or Eagles.)

10:18 pm – Police were called to Overtime Sports Bar on Broadway to break up a fight. Two people were injured and checked out by an ambulance. The fight was all over football. The bartender was advised. 

11:18 pm – A man called police to say his ex-girlfriend took his dog without permission. The ex was tracked down and advised to return the pooch.
