CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – First responders were called to 154 incidents on Wednesday.

1:47 am – South Line firefighters were called out to a CO alarm on Knollwood Drive. It turned out to be a faulty detector.

3:07 am – A passerby said it looks like there are people sleeping under the bridge on Broadway near Sloan. Four homeless people and a dog were found at the location. They were sent on their way.

4:24 am – A man dressed all in black, wearing a white mask was trying to get in the front door of Diane Drive. The drunk man had the wrong address. He was advised.

4:54 am – U-Crest firefighters were called to a CO alarm on Nadine Drive. It turned out to be a faulty detector.

7:46 am – Forks firefighters were called to a transformer fire off Broadway near the train tracks. NYSEG and CSX were notified and the fire was quickly put out.

9:07 am – A woman was arrested on Broadway for violating an order of protection and having narcotics.

9:44 am – A police report was filed after a patient at a doctor’s office on Harlem Road threatened to bomb the office.

10:39 am – A driver was pulled over on the inbound 33. They were arrested for narcotics. The driver also had an arrest warrant out of Buffalo.

12:05 pm – A driver was pulled over on Harlem Road and arrested for driving without a license and registration. 

12:59 pm – A driver struck a “right lane turn” sign on Union Road. The driver was arrested for driving without a license.

1:27 pm – A police report was filed after someone on Fairelm Lane said tar and paint were thrown in his driveway overnight.

1:50 pm – Pine Hill firefighters were called out to a fire alarm on Pine Ridge. It turned out the alarm was set off by cooking.

2:39 pm – A driver on Harlem Road called 911 to say their vehicle was struck by an orange Honda with out of state plates. There was not a lot of damage, but they were concerned because the driver “seemed out of it”. The driver of the vehicle with South Dakota plates was tracked down and arrested for narcotics.

4:22 pm – A driver was picked up by police after being spotted stealing items from the Galleria.

5:00 pm – Police were called to an ongoing neighbor dispute on Cannas Court. The caller said the neighbor’s kids were in his backyard mooning his children. Police got to the neighborhood and advised everyone involved.

5:05 pm – A police report was filed after someone on Reiman Street said their truck has been keyed.

5:09 pm – Two people were arrested for shoplifting at the Galleria.

5:28 pm – Police were called to a home on Westland Parkway. A person thought their garage was paintballed. There was no paint, it was bird droppings.

5:45 pm – A woman in her vehicle went off Genesee Street and hit a fence. She was checked out for a possible seizure. She was taken to ECMC by ambulance.

6:56 pm – A man was trying to buy a gift card at Tops on Union Road with a fake ID. Everyone was advised by police.

7:20 pm – A police report was filed after a man called to report a bomb in the basement of a home on Haller Avenue. It turned out the man moved out of the house recently and has been making calls about the home.

7:44 pm – Rescue Hose firefighters were called out to check someone with CO symptoms on McParlin Avenue. There were no CO readings. The incident was chalked up to the flu.

8:06 pm – Cleveland Hill firefighters were called to Briarcliff Road to help someone change the batteries in their smoke detector. The detector was checked out and it was found to be faulty.

8:38 pm – A police report was filed after a wallet was taken from a vehicle on Slate Creek Drive.

8:49 pm – Two women were arrested for shoplifting from Walmart. One of the women had a warrant out of Orlando.

9:41 pm – A man called police to say his landlord turned off his heat and water to try and get him to leave. It turns out the man was evicted a month ago and was supposed to be out of the house already. 

10:39 pm – A call came in from Pinehurst Avenue. A woman said another car struck her boyfriend’s car. He tried to stop the vehicle and jumped on the car’s hood. The family was looking for him nearby because the car took off with the man on the hood. The man was found at home 20 minutes later. A police report was filed on the incident.

10:57 pm – A number of cars were egged on Joseph Street.

11:22 pm – A manager of the McDonald’s on Clinton Street said a man tried to take her car while she was in the parking lot. The man was tracked down. He claimed he never tried to take the vehicle. He was arrested for harassment.
