Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 150 calls for service on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.
5:12 am – A water main break was reported on Villa Moraine Drive.
9:09 am – One person was transported to St. Joes from the scene of a car crash on Pine Ridge Road.
9:50 am – A confused man walked into the oil change area at Delta Sonic’s Walden Avenue location. The police and an ambulance were called. He was transported to the hospital.
9:57 am – Bellevue firefighters assisted Depew at the scene of a fire at the Eagles Club on Broadway and Borden.
1:00 pm – The police told roofers working at a house on Leonard Post Drive to turn down their loud music.
1:01 pm – Rescue firefighters were alerted to a cat that was stuck on a Haller Avenue roof. Forty minutes later, the chief was going to contact the SPCA. The cat was not rescued from the roof.
1:42 pm – Around $1,600 worth of tools were stolen from the Home Depot. The suspects were gone before the police arrived, but officers have a license plate of the getaway vehicle and will be following up.
4:30 pm – A traffic stop on Broadway Street yielded three arrests for narcotics.
5:05 pm – Two people were arrested on Alpine Place for larceny.
5:22 pm – The police were called to a disturbance call at First Student on Gruner Road. An upset employee was throwing things and screaming. The subject fled in a Trailblazer before the police arrived. The company said the woman was going to be fired in the morning. The police tried to advise the women, but she didn’t answer the police.
6:02 pm – An ambulance checked on a diabetic man in the police cell block. He was not transported.
6:51 pm – Doyle firefighters treated a leg injury at a crash at Harlem and Clinton. The firefighters also put down 50 lbs of granulated absorbent material.
9:48 pm – The police detained a man who a 911 caller said was jumping in and out of traffic on Vern Lane. The man was highly impaired. He took a bus after dinner and drinks and became lost on Vern Lane. He was transported to ECMC under the state’s mental health laws.
11:00 pm – A food delivery person dropped food off at a home on Cass Avenue and was paid with a fake $100 bill. The Secret Service and local detectives are investigating.
