Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Wednesday, January 24, 2018

First responders were called to 133 incidents. This is a look at some of the issues they dealt with.

12:53 am – The police started looking for a missing 16-year-old girl from an address on Woodell Avenue.  She was last seen 6:30 pm.  She was located at an address on Haller Avenue.

3:21 am – A taxi dropped a man off at Williamstowne Apartments after picking him up from the hospital.  The taxi called the police after the man sat down in the hallway with his pants down.  An ambulance transported the man back to the hospital.  Later, Doyle Hose firefighters assisted the man back into his apartment at 11 am.

5:12 am – A leaky propane tank was shut off by U-Crest firefighters at an address on the 4000 block of Genesee Street.

6:52 am – The driver of a Nissan Altima was arrested at a traffic stop on Transit Road for marijuana possession.

8:17 am – A police officer assisted a crossing guard at the Union Road entrance to Maryvale schools.

8:44 am – A pistol permit was investigated on Fairhaven Drive

11:12 am – A 1-year-old town resident with the flu suffered a seizure.  The boy was transported to Children’s Hospital for treatment.

11:40 am – A wallet containing an Erie County Sheriff’s badge was found on Satinwood Drive and was turnover to the police.

11:50 am – A woman was transported to ECMC for a facial laceration after a one-car crash at Rite Aid at Union Road and George Urban Boulevard.  She kissed the building.

12:23 pm – Traffic was impacted in front of 2800 Walden Avenue after a crash between a tractor-trailer and Ford F-150.  The police documented an arrest but the charges were not listed.

12:40 pm – The police assisted JFK administrators with an out “out of control” student.  The student was placed in in-school suspension after attempts to reach mom were unsuccessful.

3:18 pm – AAA and the police assisted a parent in freeing their 5-year-old from a locked car in the rear parking lot at Cleveland Hill schools.

4:38 pm – A stolen Ford Explorer from Cheektowaga was recovered in Niagara Falls.  It was towed to police headquarters.

4:57 pm – A burglary report was filed at United Cerebral Palsy on Cayuga Creek Road.  Cash was stolen from a safe.

5:31 pm – The police picked up one person on narcotics charges and active warrants from Cheektowaga, Amherst, and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office while attending to a prostitution arrest outside a Union Road hotel.

6:27 pm – Arrests were made for false reporting and driving without a license after a two-car crash on Dick Road.  One person took off on foot resulting in the assistance of a state trooper K9 to help track the subject.  The dog lost sent on Smallwood, but the subject was later located on Harris Court.

7:01 pm – A “very intoxicated” man called the police to say he was assaulted inside Overtime Sports Bar & Grill on Broadway. He wasn’t making sense to the public safety dispatchers speaking of “identity theft, knowing the owner, mafia, and being attacked.”  The police determined that the man was kicked out of the bar after the man and another patron got into a tiny scuffle.

7:28 pm – A Mitsubishi Lancer was reported stolen from an address on the 3100 block of Genesee Street.  The incident is domestic related.
