Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 170 calls for service on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

12:11 am – A man came to the police station asking if an officer can call his ex-girlfriend and tell her to stop contacting him.  The call was made, and both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

12:26 am – The driver of a 2008 Chevy Cobalt was arrested for drunk driver during a traffic stop on French Road.

3:42 am – A Uhaul truck reported stolen was recovered at the Thruway Plaza.

4:05 am – A male prisoner with incarceritis asked for an ambulance because he was complaining of chest pains inside the police station’s cellblock.  He was checked out by medical professionals and remained at the police station.

7:14 am – Doyle Hose on Williams Street filed a larceny report after an ex-firefighter did not return company equipment after several attempts to collect it.

8:12 am – A resident of the Apple Blossom Apartment Treatment Program on Old Union Road was arrested for harassment after he said he was going to “burn the place down” when he returned.

9:50 am – A traffic stop on Harlem Road netted an arrest for weapon possession.

12:14 pm – National Fuel and U-Crest firefighters investigated a gas leak inside a store at Walden Galleria after an anonymous call was placed with the gas company.

12:25 pm – A JFK student was assisted by the school resource officer and school officials.

12:48 pm – A resident on Hoerner Avenue was scammed out of $1,000 after he tried to buy a car over the internet.

2:23 pm – A homeless woman in a wheelchair was soliciting customers of the Walden Avenue Tim Hortons for money and coffee.  Witnesses said the woman was not wheelchair bound and was seen running across the parking lot.  She was told the next time the police come out she would be arrested.

3:08 pm – A drunk disorderly woman at Walden Galleria was transported to ECMC under the state’s mental health law.

4:06 pm – A woman fell out of her car on Fath Drive and was transported to ECMC by an ambulance.  U-Crest firefighters attended to the scene to help with first-aid.

5:49 pm – A resident of Rachelle Drive told the police that they were scammed out of $88,000.

8:46 pm – Four people were arrested after the stole from Auntie Anne’s Pretzels at the Walden Galleria.  The police made the arrest after they detained the people for disorderly conduct.

10:19 pm – Doyle firefighters responded to Pocketeer Billiards on Clinton Street for a possible drug overdose.  It’s not clear if the man overdosed, but he was transported to ECMC for being too impaired.

11:04 pm – A prisoner with a head injury was transported to ECMC.
