Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Tuesday, January 8, 2019

First responders were called to 151 calls for service on Tuesday.

2:09 am – Patrol officers tried to find a man on a warrant off Jeffrey Drive in the woods.  They discovered a makeshift camp with a tent and bicycle, but the man was not around.

2:13 am – Car 14 sustained a flat tire while driving on Harlem Road.  The patrol car was towed back to police headquarters, and a crash report was filed.

4:31 am – A man wearing a camo mask and black hoody robbed the Sunoco gas station at Maryvale and Union.  The suspect was said to have displayed weapon.

7:50 am – Three people were wanted by police after they shoplifted from Walmart.  An officer pulled over their car on Reo Avenue, and the group bailed out on foot.  A perimeter was established around the neighborhood.  Two people were soon caught.  The vehicle was towed to the police impound lot.

10:25 am – A man was arrested on Littlefield Avenue in the city after Cheektowaga Police caught up to a Home Depot shoplifter.  The subject took a Dewalt Power tool.

2:11 pm – Police responded to a disturbance on Lehavre Drive.  A 15-year-old hit his mom with a door and threatened to hit her with a hammer if she took away his video game console.

4:40 pm – An arrest warrant was issued for the driver a vehicle that led police on a brief chase in the area of Richard Drive.  The chase lasted for around a minute.  The car was later located in Buffalo and was towed to the police impound lot.

5:06 pm – An off-duty State Trooper located a 2-year-old walking down the street near the Maryvale schools.  Police took the child to its home on Union Road, and the parents were strongly advised.  It appears the child unlocked the door and ventured out.

5:28 pm – A male who was barred from Thruway Plaza Tops was arrested after he trespassed at the store.  An arrest warrant was discovered while the police were checking his background.

5:46 pm – Three people were arrested at Thruway Plaza Tops for shoplifting.

8:31 pm – French Road sustained a water main break.  A caller told the police the six-eight inches of water was in the road.
