First responders were called out to 152 incidents in the Town of Cheektowaga on Tuesday. Here are some of the issues they dealt with.
1:24 am – Two arrests were made for narcotics at a traffic stop along the 1700 block of Walden Avenue.
1:40 am – A man was arrested at Williamstowne Apartments for false impersonation and resisting arrest.
1:40 am – A 35-year-old man robbed the Express Mart Convenience Store at Genesee and Harlem. He demanded Newport Cigarettes saying he had a gun, but none was displayed. The police followed his footprints through a cemetery and was later arrested.
6:10 am – A complaint slip was issued to a man on Bell Street after he said his gas cap was removed from his vehicle. He told the police that he thought his ex-girlfriend put something in his gas tank.
10:29 am – Pine Hill firefighters investigated smoke in the area of Alpine Place. It was steam from sewer work.
12:59 pm – Cheektowaga Police assisted Erie County Probation after a taser and drug items were found inside a home on Linda Drive. One person was arrested.
3:26 pm – One person was taken to South Buffalo Mercy after a three-car crash on William Street. Doyle firefighters attended to the scene.
5:11 pm – A resident of Carefree Lane found old bullet casings on the street. The police disposed of them.
5:45 pm – Doyle firefighters responded to a possible car fire on Clinton Street. The operator said she smelled something burning. The firefighters found an antifreeze leak.
6:58 pm – A man was arrested for shoplifting from Family Dollar.
7:42 pm – A drunk man on Campbell Road was admitted to ECMC under the mental hygiene law for being too intoxicated.
10:51 pm – The police attended to a loud verbal argument on Glenwood Court.
