Cheektowaga Police Blotter: Tuesday, February 19, 2019

Emergency responders in Cheektowaga were called out to 151 calls for service on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.

12:20 am – Cheektowaga Police assisted Buffalo Police looking for evidence along Eggert Road after a cabby was robbed at gunpoint on Millicent Avenue.

9:37 am – Two court summons were served to Tony’s Tree and Landscaping on Aero Drive for allowing dogs to run free on the property.

10:57 am – A resident of Alpine Place reported that they had nearly $2,000 in unauthorized credit card charges.

11:04 am – The police responded to the Key Bank at 2929 Union Road after a man walked into the space between the tellers and the vault and refused to leave.  Officers were on location within a minute, and the man was sent on his way 15 minutes later.

11:50 am – Doyle firefighters responded to a possible kitchen fire on Vern Lane.  Police got on location first and found that a towel caught fire on the stove.  It was extinguished using a fire extinguisher.  An earlier report said Bellevue firefighters responded.  They were accidentally alerted to the call for service.

1:35 pm – A patrol officer removed a bag of trash that was obstructing traffic near 2567 Union Road.

2:09 pm – A resident of Reo Avenue told the police that cars were driving over his lawn to get to a hair salon next door.  Police spoke to the resident.

2:17 pm – A resident on Nandale Drive sent $1,200 by money order for a MaCaw bird.  The money was cashed, but the bird was never received.

4:51 pm – One person was arrested at the Family Dollar on Genesee Street for trespass.

5:58 pm – A Walden Galleria shopper called the police to say their car window was smashed.  An investigation showed that it appeared that the window was smashed from the inside of the car.

7:21 pm – The police received a Tip411 reporting four women stealing clothes from a store at Walden Galleria.  The police were inside the mall but could not locate the suspects.  The police remind the public to report crimes in progress by calling 911.

9:10 pm – Four teens were smoking pot inside a car and were threatening a 911 caller on Baywood Drive.  The area was checked, but the car was not found.

10:12 pm – An ambulance transported a male prisoner with a leg laceration from the police cellblock to ECMC.  He returned to the police station at 1:12 am.

10:40 pm – The police responded to an address on the 4200 block of Genesee Street for a discipline issue.  A 17-year-old boy threated to stab mom with a fork.

10:47 pm – A Liberty Cab driver called 911 to say he was tased and robbed by three males dressed in black on the first block of Cleveland Drive.  The detective bureau is investigating.
